MORNING SKINCARE

Hey y'all!!! Thought I would share my favorite skincare goodies and get into the details on why I love the products I do. I have learned to take care of my skin and to find products that are cost effective, universal for multiple skin types, and have simple ingredients. As far as my skin goes, I typically have normal to dry(ish) skin and I struggle with acne and breakouts.

Let's start!!

I use the Rodan + Fields products every morning and night. I have found that their UNBLEMISH line that contains the Refining Acne Wash, Clarifying Toner, and Dual Intensive Acne Treatment is what works best with my skin. So, every morning I make sure to wash my face, apply toner, and apply the treatment. Also, it is important to let your face dry in between each step just to make sure everything absorbs. I have tried multiple acne care lines and this seems to be the only one that I truly saw a difference with, I have been using it now for MONTHS now. Pricey, but long term results are worth it.

Another option I have heard great things about, but have not personally tried are the Tula Acne Kits. They have three options based on severity linking the Level 3 Acne Clearing Routine HERE. You can also SHOP TULA THROUGH AMAZON HERE.

After those three acne products, I will either go in with a moisturizer or a sun screen!

For moisturizer, I love the Drunk Elephant Protini™ Polypeptide Moisturizer, or the Drunk Elephant Lala Retro™ Whipped Moisturizer with Ceramides, or the Daily Greens Oil-Free Gel Moisturizer with Moringa and Papaya. The Drunk Elephant products are probably the most expensive part of my skincare, but they last a long time and skincare is worth investing in cause you only get one face. As far as a difference between the pink vs blue/green bottle - not much and I go back and forth between them. The Lala Retro™ Whipped Moisturizer with Ceramides (pink one) has a thicker consistency and is amazing. The Protini™ Polypeptide Moisturizer (blue/green one) has a thinner consistency and is more clear; I will say though, I love the idea of protein in a moisturizer. The Daily Greens Oil-Free Gel Moisturizer with Moringa and Papaya was a last minute purchase during the Sephora sale and I am very, very impressed, especially for the price point! This moisturizer is a gel like consistency and feels cooling on the face. Also, it smells real good. All three of these work great with acne-prone skin like mine as well as normal skin. They are all three CLEAN products, have amazing reviews, and actually work!!

Other options for moisturizers I want to try and have heard great things about, but haven't myself are linked below. I am also linking up all of Sephora's Clean Moisturizers HERE.

Typically after my moisturizer I will apply a SPF!

I will definitely admit I am not the most accountable when it comes to SPF, but I can tell you if you don't want old looking, wrinkly skin you need to be wearing a SPF sunscreen on your face daily as a preventative to protect your face. I use the Rodan + Fields UNBLEMISH sunscreen, it is formulated for acne prone skin which I really like. It is a clear, gel like formula. I have heard positive things about their other sunscreens as well! I also like the Drunk Elephant Umbra Physical Daily Defense Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 30 they have a TINTED and a NON TINTED version; I have the tinted one, it's a bronze color. I have also tried the Super Goop Invincible Setting Powder SPF 45 in a sample one time and it was awesome and actually protected my face from getting burned. It would be great for everyday use, because it is just a powder.

Other options that I have heard amazing things about and read reviews on, but have not tried myself are linked below.

After I have finished my morning skincare routine I will add specific items as needed!!

First off, the Tula Cooling and Brightening Eye Balm. This stuff is magic. It instantly cools, hydrates, has a glowy highlight, and reduces the looks of dark circles and puffiness. It also helps in the morning to make you feel more awake. It is a must buy!

Another item I will use as needed is the Tula Go Away Acne Spot Treatment. This stuff is by far the best spot treatment on the market. I love that you can use it day and night which totally helps get rid of any breakouts quicker. Also, it is a clear formula and has a easy to use applicator. Not only is this stuff supposed to clear up acne but it also prevents future breakouts, fade acne scarring, and decrease the amount of redness. Another bust buy!

Lastly, the Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Skin Therapy Oil is another item I will use in the mornings occasionally when my skin is very dry or after being in the sun a lot. This product is a holy grail and I will definitely go into more detail on it in my nighttime skincare, but you are paying under $10 for a miracle oil that has made news articles. Check out the InStyle Article HERE and the Good House Keeping Article HERE.

Also, this Olehenriksen Banana Bright Eye Cream works very, very well I purchased it for my mom at the Sephora sale and was very surprised at how quick you can see it working.

After my skincare I will also go in with something for my lips. I typically do either the Laneige Lip Mask in either the TUBE VERSION or the JAR VERSION or I use Aquaphor. I use the Aquaphor lip sticks or the tubes. Also my tried and true Palmer's Coca Butter Swivel Stick. I buy these in bulk because I have them in every bag I own and have gotten everyone hooked on them. I also love this Amazon lip treatment, Lip Treatment Moisturizer and Conditioner: The Hanalei Lip Therapy and Dry Lip Repair it smells yummy and it keeps your lips hydrated and has color options too!

Breaking it down, you should always apply your skincare thinnest product to thickest product meaning oils to moisturizer to creams, drying in between each step. Pro tip: I use THIS PORTABLE FAN I saw another influencer use and it is honestly genius for drying skincare or makeup, or actually fanning you. Bonus it is not that pricey for the use you will get out of it and it is a USB charger! The order in which I apply my morning skincare is as follows: R+F acne wash, R+F toner, R+F acne treatment, Palmer's oil, moisturizer, SPF, Tula eye balm, Tula acne spot treatment.
